Your Skin Type

Dry skin usually feels tight throughout the day or after washing.

  • Skin may be prone to flaking
  • Appears dull
  • Itchy, which is your skin's way of telling you to shed dead cells
  • More common in colder climates or in the winter or fall
  • Dry skin needs a gentle cleanser, followed by a heavier cream or oil containing hyalorinc acid
  • Toner is not necessary for those with dry skin, as many toners can be drying
  • Use a gentle exfoliator to rid your skin of dead skin cells

Normal skin is what we all want!

  • Rare pimples
  • No flaking or itching
  • No excess oil or shine
  • Maintain normal skin with a cleanser and moisturizer that is neither too heavy nor too light
  • Spot treatment for pimples
  • Normal skin can still be sensitive

Combination skin is the most common skin type.

  • Oily T-zone but dry in other places
  • Prone to breakouts, especially in the T zone area.
  • Gentle cleanser with a light moisturizer on the T-zone and heavier moisturizer on dry spots
  • Usually treated as oily skin

Oily skin is usually excessively oily, with large and congested pores.

  • Prone to acne breakouts and blackheads
  • Oily skin doesn’t necessarily mean that your skin is well-hydrated, though - it can still be over-worked and under-hydrated (dehydrated, not dry).
  • More common in warmer climates or in the spring and summer
  • Cleanser should be gentle & non-drying
  • Moisturize with a gel or a light-weight moisturizer
  • Use products with acne-fighting benefits, such as salicylic acid or tea tree oil
