Bacne (Back Acne)

Bacne (Back Acne)

Back acne can show as whiteheads, blackheads, and cysts, just as acne on your face. Many find that back acne is more stubborn and severe than face acne. As with acne on the face, bacne is caused by an overproduction of sebaceous glands on the back and can be treated as other form of acne in other areas.

1. Choose the Right Clothing
Choose clothes that are 100% cotton, especially when you are working out. Cotton soaks oil and sweat produced on the back, trapping it in your clothes instead of your pores. Loose clothes also reduces the likelihood of a breakout, since it lets you skin breathe.

2. Hair and Body Products
Some hair and body products may increase your chances of developing back acne. Many hair products and body washes contain ingredients that have a harsh, irritating effect on your skin that may clog pores.

3. Rinse Right After a Workout
The shorter the time between exercising and showering, the better for your skin! Remove dirty clothing from your workout as soon as possible. Dirty clothes can clog pores on your back and cause breakouts.

4. Exfoliate (Gently)
Remove dead skin and unclog pores by exfoliating your skin - but do not overdo it. Oily skin can take gentle exfoliation daily, but if you’re sensitive, stick to a light scrub once a week.
